Way too late vacation post

Isn’t it weird to consider you day-offs spent at your own home a vacation?

For college students like me, it wasn’t that uncanny really. We’ll think through that every two day break as an opportunity to have a grand ‘home holiday’, and when I meant home it does not pertain to the city apartment or boarding house or dorm. I meant home sweet home.

Last July I grabbed that chance to be back in Nueva Ecija for a few days, barely a week. It was not a week-off from job or from studies, really. I would say, on those times I was on a mission to make up for my more-than-a-hundred-hour demerit on hospital and on school. I knew I have to finish that sooner but the struggle was still too hot then (since lots of outgoing interns were fighting for the slot and well fighting for life) that I decided to take a break and let them do their own hunger games.

And in pictures, here are few that had happened.

The primary reason why I went home was for my grandfather’s death anniversary. To those who doesn’t know, he was the one made this college life possible. I got the educational benefit from Ph Veterans Affairs Office which was granted to our dear soldiers. And here’s the good view from his lovely bones.

One thing that welcomed me home is the fact that a branch of 7-11 is now open on our little town. And I was there for a treat! Yey to better and hotter afternoons!

Went to the mall to buy some shirts because nothing fits me now… and I will be needing some for my review classes.

I really admire NE Pacific Mall’s dΓ©cor the last time I was there. (I only go for a visit only once a year I think, haha. Scheduling problems) But yes, I felt like I was on a big mall… in Japan.

I never knew we had lots of chickens.

Being at home will never be being at home without eating the best-est Cashew Nut Ice Cream from Puno’s! And as I type this, I am drooling. Baguio (or I) needs a Puno’s Ice Cream branch.right.now.

Who says you can’t make money while on a vacation? I whipped it!

And of course did some end of vacay posing.

And leaving the rest of the town in full bloom, to face Baguio city’s challenges once again.

Until next blog!

Day 12 // My hometown

The green fields.

View of the sunset in from the house.

Typical flowers growing on the yard.

(The following text are copied and pasted from a school project of mine. Haha.)

I was born and raised by my parents in this little town in Nueva Ecija which is Rizal. It is found in north-central of Luzon, it is near Cabanatuan and Palayan city – the main cities in the province – with which it is connected by main roads. Farming and rice milling is the principal industry in this place. The barangay where I exactly grew up is called Bicos, once known as “Ricos” by the Spanish colonizers because it is surrounded with small bodies of water.

I grew up in a small part of the town but I loved the place ever since. Our house is facing the fields of palay that are our province’s pride. The fields are so attractive when it is at its greenest and when the crops are about to be harvested. The sun shines charmingly in the morning specially when it is at its goldest. You will also get the wide view of the stars when you look up from the window at night.

I don’t know any famous person that is from Rizal but our province has proved that a lot of bright and talented persons are born and raised in our place like Vilma Santos, who spent some of his childhood days in Nueva Ecija; the Sottos, who were one of the most famous and richest residents of Cabanatuan during the old days; and Robin Padilla and his brothers also grew up in our province and I remember the stories of a relative that they were playmates back then. As time goes by, more and more Novo Ecijanos tries and do their best to be a pride of our dear hometown.

This is the town where I grew up. This is the only place where I will ever feel infinite.

My 3-day vacation went like this..

Three days (if you will think of it) is very long. 72 hours, 4320 minutes, 259200 seconds. But when we speak of vacation, three days seem like 3 blinks of an eye.

Here's some of the things I did! So sad I haven't had enough time to take photos! :P

DAY 1

Reading magazine on the plane. (Just kidding! Haha. Not on the plane. :P)
The weather's not that good.

So I slept all the way down to the next photo.

I was sleep soundly when my mom woke me up to point out the flood. (Seriously, I was dreaming about my Immunology class {as well as my instructor} at that moment. I think she's about to give a quiz when mom woke me up! I'm saved! Hahahaha)

It was taken in some areas of Pangasinan.

Then the trip went onnnnnnn until Nueva Ecija.

There has been an outbreak of dengue in our place so it's better to be safe than be a victim! I used this thing to get rid of those mosquitoes. I also applied litters of insect repellent lotion all over my body!

 DAY 2

See that fields of green? That is what you will see in my hometown! Refreshing right?

The view above is what you will see from my grandfather's resting place. We always visit him and bring him flowers, candles and prayers whenever we are home.

I look insert-adj-here in this photo haha.

Off to visit the city!

(My father is my official photographer on my solo photos haha)

I bought these happy pens! :)

DAY 3

Making smiles before going back to Baguio! :D

Hugging the walls cause I don't wanna leaveeeeee!

But then I had to goooooo!

Guess what I did on  the plane (van lols) !?  ----> SLEEEEEEEP

It was a nice vacation anyways. :)
