Day 13 // My favorite musician

Taylor Swift

"She's one of the few genuine rock stars we’ve got these days, with a flawless ear for what makes a song click." -- Rolling Stone, June 2012
Taylor Swift will release her fourth studio album, Red, on October 22nd, 2012.
22 year-old Taylor Swift is a six-time GRAMMY winner, and is the youngest winner in history of the music industry’s highest honor, the Grammy Award for Album of the Year (for Fearless, released in 2008). Her 2010 album, Speak Now, was lauded on Rolling Stone’s prestigious The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time (by women) list, and Time magazine has named Taylor one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Taylor, who writes all of her own songs, has career record sales in excess of 22 million albums and 50 million song downloads. Each of her three studio albums has sold in excess of 5 million copies worldwide, and her most recent album, Speak Now, is one of only 17 albums in the entire history of music to sell more than 1 million copies in a single week. She has had singles top both the country and pop radio charts around the globe, is one of the top 5-selling digital music artists worldwide, and is the top-selling digital artist in country music history. She is Billboard’s Woman of the Year, the reigning American Music Awards Artist of the Year, and both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music’s current Entertainer of the Year. She is also the most awarded star in the history of the Teen Choice Awards, taking home honors for both music and movies.

Taylor holds the Billboard records for the Most Top 10 Debuts in the History of the Hot 100 Chart, the Most Charting Songs from One Album in a Single Week, and the Longest Charting Album on the Top 200 Chart. Speak Now is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Fastest Selling Digital Album by a Female Artist.
Earlier this year, Taylor wrapped her world tour in support of SPEAK NOW, and played 111 shows to more than 1.5 million fans in sold-out stadiums and arenas in 19 countries spanning four continents in 2011 and 2012. Her 107-date FEARLESS 2009/2010 Tour sold out arenas and stadiums in 88 cities in five countries.
Taylor voiced the character of Audrey in the 2012 hit movie "Dr. Seuss’s The LORAX," and also this year, she contributed two songs to the soundtrack of the movie "The Hunger Games." She has hosted Saturday Night Live, appeared in the Garry Marshall film "Valentine’s Day," and guest-starred on the Emmy-winning TV drama CSI.

-----> from taylorswift.com.

The above text are not just the reasons why I love T. Swift. I have given my ears on her since the time that I first heard Teardrops on My Guitar. I can still remember where I am that time, on our old house, holding my old phone while listening to the radio. Then the song came out. I can still remember where I first saw her face on a magazine. It was years back then.

The time when I first had twitter is so vivid. We've got no internet connection back then so I had to rent on some nearby computer shop. I can still remember where I was seated. I made one years ago just to get latest news regarding her.

I always wanted to play the guitar. But the feeling became more intense because of her. She had inspired me to have one and play my favorite songs on it. I also take her as an inspiration when it comes to writing.

For me, she's the sweetest musician out there. I have seen it the way I view her lyrics, the way she blogs, the ways she answers her interviews, the way I see her on the TV.

I love her as always because I always feel like we're sharing the same diary. I pinky swear to you who's reading this: I will always be a Swifty.

Day 12 // My hometown

The green fields.

View of the sunset in from the house.

Typical flowers growing on the yard.

(The following text are copied and pasted from a school project of mine. Haha.)

I was born and raised by my parents in this little town in Nueva Ecija which is Rizal. It is found in north-central of Luzon, it is near Cabanatuan and Palayan city – the main cities in the province – with which it is connected by main roads. Farming and rice milling is the principal industry in this place. The barangay where I exactly grew up is called Bicos, once known as “Ricos” by the Spanish colonizers because it is surrounded with small bodies of water.

I grew up in a small part of the town but I loved the place ever since. Our house is facing the fields of palay that are our province’s pride. The fields are so attractive when it is at its greenest and when the crops are about to be harvested. The sun shines charmingly in the morning specially when it is at its goldest. You will also get the wide view of the stars when you look up from the window at night.

I don’t know any famous person that is from Rizal but our province has proved that a lot of bright and talented persons are born and raised in our place like Vilma Santos, who spent some of his childhood days in Nueva Ecija; the Sottos, who were one of the most famous and richest residents of Cabanatuan during the old days; and Robin Padilla and his brothers also grew up in our province and I remember the stories of a relative that they were playmates back then. As time goes by, more and more Novo Ecijanos tries and do their best to be a pride of our dear hometown.

This is the town where I grew up. This is the only place where I will ever feel infinite.

Day 9 // A photo of the last item you've purchased

These things are definitely not the one that I last bought but they are the newest things that is within proximity.

The thing on the picture is a stationary pad from Papelmeroti. I just love buying papers from them. I don't know why. I am planning to write on it every time that I travel out of town. It comes with cool prints on the right side of the paper. One reads like this: I rode on a:
___ bus
___ tricycle
___ LRT
___carabao

which is actually cool! I want to tick the boxes already.

The other one on the photo are vintage charms. I don't know where I will use, really. But I am planning to make a charm bracelet out of those.

That's it!

Love, Denise. :)

P.S.
I am so sorry if it has been a while since I last posted a blog for my  30-day-challenge.    Busy days.

Day 8 // A photo and a song to match my mood

Photo:

This is Twenty and me. I just got her tuned in the shop and I started re- customizing her with sparkles. See how happy we are? (BTW, I named her Twenty because I met her March 20... :) )

Video:

Tree Hugger by Atsy Pants

I forgot where I first heard this but yeah, I have chosen it because I have been so random and weird and bipolar these past days (just like the song). Maybe because of the exams (and the results). Haha.

How about you? How will you describe today?

So, see you on the next blog! :*

Day 7 // If you could live at any period in the past, when would it be?

Me and this time traveling post.

Q: If you could live at any period in the past, when would it be?

If this would involve my personal life, I would go back again in my childhood days. Who would never want to be a child again? Having less worries or none at all. Having lots of kids on your birthday parties, playing traditional childhood games like Bahay-bahayan and lutu-lutuan. I did not spend my childhood playing lots of running and running games because I'm weak at that point. I am always the it when it comes to that.

I would go back to those time, if I would have the chance to. Now that I know how to feel like in college, I have realized the things that I should've done when I was a kid. I should have spent my time sleeping at noon (so I should have grown more, haha). I wish I attended summer talent camps or even art classes. I wish I read more books. And I wished I have done my best on the first day of school.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you would want me to go down on the deeper and older days, I would always would want to go on the 60's I think. Or maybe just in time of Marilyn Monroe. I would love have those curly short hairs and red lips and flying skirts. I love vintage as well as classics. I love all the things that belong to the past (bitter or sweet does). At times, I feel like I lived in the 50's and I am just living my life over again. I have a big appreciation on lots of old old things like old books and even clocks that I saw on my grandmother's house. I love those floral stuffs. I like ranuculus. I love those vintage themed notebooks that are designed to make you feel like you are writing during those olden times. I admire Anne Frank, I would like to see her actual diary. A font in my header is Jane Austen's handwriting... She's classic. I like to play songs on vinyl again, seems like forever since I've seen one. As a child, I always wished to study on a boarding school headed by a strict old lady like Miss Minchin. And also, have you read Perks? Reading that makes me feel infinite with all the concepts of typewriting and making mixtapes and all. Tell me now, I belong to those times right? Haha.

I also like writing letters (if only writing letters will be very much alive again, I would be the happiest). I remember writing letters during my elementary days and that was oh so cool, writing letters to your friends who are far away. Haha. I am thinking of parchments and owls and packages when I am typing this.

And if you would want to go back on the time of Marilyn Monroe, just tell me. I might remember where I was at those times.

Love, Denise.

Day 6 // A photo of animal you would love to keep as a pet

I think a video will be better. Here's Taylor and Meredith (the kitty cat I would want to own). :)

It's not that I just to have a cat like her because of Taylor but I really love cats. I also love dogs by the way, but I find cats more conversational. I used to own one but it died last year, and that's kind of painful. But now I am ready to own one again and...

...if you have a baby Meredith that you would like to share, I would be thankful.

Day 5 // (A) photo/s of yourself 2 years ago

Since I have no time to search for a nice-r solo picture of me, (I have 5 exams tomorrow) I would just like to share this photo/s that was tagged on my FB account two years ago. :)

(Left) This is me working on the zoology laboratory. I am in first year then. (Right) This is me and Joana, with our little friends. They are princes now, if you will ask. :)

Little note for you: If you're reading this post, I would want to say that I wanted to share lots of my photos 2 years ago and I promise that I'll add more in this post this weekend. I just have to go by now. Bye! :)

Day 4 // List 10 things you would want to tell your 16 year old self

1. Dear 16-year-old self, you will be allergic to seafoods soon. You better eat crabs and shrimps and lobsters as much as you can, now.

2.  Dear 16-year-old self, forget everything that you want to forget but remember to put into yourself the lessons learned from those things.

3.  Dear 16-year-old self, do not throw your things. Keep them if you can. Vintage is on the spotlight nowadays. Who knows most of the things that you own now will be very valuable  to the future generation.

4.  Dear 16-year-old self, you will be a writer. Count on me.

5.  Dear 16-year-old self, there will be a L-O-T of ups and downs in your life as a student. You are doing good, maybe but that will not be enough when you will be eighteen.

6.  Dear 16-year-old self, there's a lot of unreleased TSwift songs out there. You should've known.

7.  Dear 16-year-old self, you'll be lacking sleep during your 18's. Sleep 24 hours a day now, while you can.

8.  Dear 16-year-old self, stay connected with your HS friends. Now that I'm 18, I would want to go back to the time when I last saw them. Our graduation was the last. :|

9.  Dear 16-year-old self, stay safe. The world is not that safe right now.

10.  Dear 16-year-old self, one (or 3 times) in your life you will be experiencing 5 professional exams in a day. So your 18-year-old self will have to go now. Bye! :)

P.S.

Dear 16-year-old self, do not be hard on to yourself. (That's the only thing that your 18-year-old self can advice you.) :)

Love,
Your 18-year-old self.

Happy September!

I've always wanted to do some blogging challenges ever since my tumblog'n days but I never had an initiative. It's just so recently when my friend Sheila posted something about this challenge on her blog. So now that September has come, I would like to do this 30-day-blog-challenge for a change. I compiled some of the lists I've seen on some other blogs.

If you have a blog, you might as well be inspired to do the same thing. Do not hesitate to accept my challenge (or you may also make your own list).

Happy blogging!
